At NK's Drinking Water Treatment Plant O&M and Design, our team of experienced chemical and mechanical engineers have a proven track record of working in various water and chemical treatment capacities. With years of experience under their belts, they have successfully worked with anthracite filters, activated carbon filters, ion-exchanged demineralizers, reverse osmosis systems, ultrafiltration systems, membrane bioreactors, electro deionization (EDI) systems, chlorine generators, UV sterilizers, ozone generators, cooling towers (open and closed loop), and wastewater treatment plants (CEPT and biological). See the products column for WWTP facilities we can offer.
Our team has worked with some of the most prestigious government and private facilities, including the Macau Refuse Incineration plant, City of Dreams, Galaxy, Macau Airport, Macau & Taipa Ferry Terminal, and Macau wastewater treatment plant, from 1992 to 2021. We take pride in the quality of our work and the reputation we have built over the years.
Our drinking water treatment plant system is illustrated in the diagram below. This system is explained in detail to give you a better understanding of how it works. The process begins with the raw water pump, which transfers water at a flow rate of 6 tons per hour to the quartz sand filter tank.
The quartz sand filter effectively removes suspended solids, organic matter, colloidal particles, microorganisms, chlorine, odor, and some heavy metal ions from water under a certain pressure. The filtered water then flows to the activated carbon filter.
This filter is an effective option for removing certain chemicals, particularly organic chemicals, from water. Additionally, it can also remove chemicals that cause objectionable odors or tastes such as hydrogen sulfide (rotten eggs odor) or chlorine. The water filtered out from the activated carbon filter will then flow to the water softener.
This unit is used to soften water by removing minerals that cause water to be hard. It also protects the reverse osmosis systems by removing magnesium and chloride, which reduces pressure on the reverse osmosis filter and increases its lifespan. The filtered water will then flow to the security filter column.
Installed upstream of the ion exchange resin columns (water softener), this filter removes particles and downstream to remove resin fines that could clog a pure water system's underdrains. 5-micron pre-filters are installed ahead of the reverse osmosis system to remove non-uniform-sized particles. The filtered water then flows to the UV sterilizer.
The UV sterilization process is the most effective method for disinfecting bacteria from water. The UV rays penetrate harmful pathogens in water and destroy illness-causing microorganisms by attacking their genetic core (DNA).
Finally, the water that is produced, or the RO permeate that is disinfected with UV lights, is stored in the RO tank as a supply to the 200 Liters Per Hour, 3-1 Automatic bottle rinsing, filling, and capping machine. Once the bottles are filled, the water is ready for distribution and consumption.
Raw Water vs RO Permeate Parameters
We check the aforementioned parameters regularly, and make sure that analytical instruments and chemicals (NaCl or table salt for regeneration of water softener) are available on site to guarantee the safe & reliable water that we produce on 24/7 basis
